Guys I just got in touch with the most AMAZING soft cocktail blogger. This girl is my hostess crush! She has the most beautiful drinks (that taste EVEN BETTER) and I am SO blessed to have her on my blog. Here she is!!:
The Blueberry Vanilla Sparkler will keep you cool all summer
The temperature is starting to climb and the kids are literally days away from being out of school. It’s almost, officially summer!!
For our family, summer means 4 th of July parties, impromptu dinners with friends, horseshoe tournaments, movie nights, Seattle Mariner’s games, and generally…making memories with our people.
I love sipping on a grown-up drink when we’re enjoying our summer but as someone who has been sober for 15 years, non-alcoholic grown-up drinks can be hard to come by. I say “grown-up” because most mocktails seem to be designed with kids in mind. A lot of fruit and a lot of sugar topped with a lot
of Sprite. I’m itching to brush my teeth just thinking about it! I knew there had to be something better out there, something that was hand crafted with fresh ingredients and unique flavor combinations. Admittedly, I’ve been known to take the easy way out when entertaining – some store bought iced tea,
some ginger beer, and maybe a few bottles of flavored tonic – so I wanted to curate and create drinks that were fresh and flavorful but easy for bartending rookies like me. And of course, when it’s served in a beautiful glass with a lovely garnish, who can resist?
This soft cocktail recipe is one you can put in your rotation all summer long. It’s fresh, it’s hydrating, a touch of sweet, a touch of bubbly, and about as easy as they get.
Serve it in a beautiful glass (check out the Drinks on Me collection from Darbie Angell!), garnish with some blueberries and a sprig of mint, and this drink screams “plant me on the patio with some good friends and summertime fun”. And bonus – no hangover
1 ounce fresh lime juice
Muddle both in your glass
Add.5 oz vanilla simple syrup
Top with club soda or your favorite seltzer
Garnish with fresh blueberries and a sprig of mint. If you're feeling extra fancy or extra sweet, moisten half of the glass rim with a lime wedge and dip in sugar.
Tip: Frozen blueberries in ice cubes would be darling in the drink or frozen sugared blueberries on top
I promise, this mocktail won’t make you feel like you’re at the kids table
