So I LOVE travel, and one of my (many) favorite places to go is Italy! The art and architecture are SOOO beautiful. The rolling foggy hills and the landscape look just like a painting. And of course, the food is AMAZING!!!
Italy is famous for its dishes, and hey! I read that the people who live the longest eat Mediterranean diets, so I mean that's a win-win situation!
That's why I have been inspired to create this Mediterranean Menu, because it's DELICIOUS and it's healthy...ish. I'm all for good food and good health! Anyway, I got these ideas off of my Pinterest account
. If you like them, be sure to follow me and I'll send more ideas and inspiration your way! :)
First things first: here's your Antipasto pronto!
I LOVE this set up because first of all, it's GORGEOUS, and second of all, it offers a wide variety of foods for your guests to choose from. There's a little something for everyone, from your Vegan neighbors to your High-Protein Gym buddies! Everybody wins!
YUMM! Carbonara never fails to satisfy guests! This recipe is KILLER too! It's super easy to make, so that's another plus. One other great thing about it is you can make it the night before without the cheese and garnish, then pull it out before your event. All you have to do the day of is reheat it and garnish, and done! It's low maintenance and a great dish!
And what about sides and party foods? This twist on a Caprese Salad is one of my favorites!
It's simple, but it looks professional! Not to mention it's super yummy too.
You CAN'T forget dessert too! Cannoli is the go-to Italian dessert. Though I have to warn you, making homemade cannoli is not for the faint-of-heart baker!
This Mini-Cannoli Bites recipe is a little simpler, but it's TOTALLY worth the challenge! They're simple, sweet, and small enough to take a bite without ruining your diet.
Short and sweet! Love these things!
And last but not least, the dessert drinks!!!
Italy is famous for it's Limoncello (Lee-mon-che-low)!
Limoncello is like a strong lemonade mixed with a grain-based alcohol. Vodka is typical.
This prosecco limoncello recipe is the ideal drink for after dinner chats. It has the perfect amount of sweetness to make any dinner feel complete!
You can't forget to toast with it! The typical Italian toast is, "Salute!" and if you don't drink directly after toasting, it's said to be bad luck for seven years!!! Drink up!
Send us your Mediterranean Feast pics! :)
