Ladies, the cold front has hit HARD, and it's time to get that hot chocolate out once again!
Cold weather just isn't the same without hot chocolate. No matter how old you are, hot chocolate is a MUST after a day out in the cold wind!
But for my other coffee addicts, you might feel guilty to have coffee AND hot chocolate within a four hour span, and sister, I know that feeling. That's why I decided to funnel my coffee and hot chocolate addiction into one ultimate recipe, making hot chocolate the French way.
CAUTION: This recipe contains EXTREME YUMMINESS just btw.
2 1/2 oz. semisweet chocolate
1/2 cup coffee
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup heavy cream, whipped
Pinch of salt
Combine chocolate, coffee, sugar, and salt over a double boiler, and bring to a boil.
Remove from heat and stir; then return to double boiler. Do this four times, stirring constantly. Cool completely.
Fold in whipped cream, and place in fridge to chill.
To serve, put a tablespoon of chocolate mixture in a cup, pour in scalded milk, and stir.
Baby it's cold outside! But not with a cup of this loveliness ;-)
